The registration of .hu domain names is completely different than of any other domain name.
The procedure is not real-time and not automatic. All orders are grouped into two categories:
Orders with priority
Your domain name has priority if it is the same as the name of your registered company. If you own Mycompany Ltd. or Mycompany Co., you have priority for the chosen domain name. These domains get registered within 2-3 days.
Orders without priority
All other orders do not have priority. They are listed for two weeks on a public waiting list. If someone has priority for the chosen name, he/she can register the domain name with priority before you. These orders take 16-18 days till the domain name is active.
Anyone within the EU can register unlimited number of .hu domain names, however you need to provide a Hungarian address for the administative person. You can enter our address if you do not have an address in Hungary.
If you are not a EU resident, we cannot register the domain name in your name. We can register the domain in our name, but the ownership will be yours.
Besides the opportunity to register a .hu TLD (top level domain), the following secondary level domains can be registered for the same price as the usual TLD: co.hu, 2000.hu, erotika.hu, jogasz.hu, sex.hu, video.hu, info.hu, agrar.hu, film.hu, konyvelo.hu, shop.hu, org.hu, bolt.hu, forum.hu, lakas.hu, suli.hu, priv.hu, casino.hu, games.hu, media.hu, szex.hu, sport.hu, city.hu, hotel.hu, news.hu, tozsde.hu, tm.hu, erotica.hu, ingatlan.hu, reklam.hu and utazas.hu.
All expiring domain names are listed on a public list and you can backorder the desired domain name. The expiring domain name list.
We provide the DNS entries and redirection to a given URL for free, but you can use your own NS server during the registration procedure. Note that there are some strict rules you must follow when configuring the domain on your server. The setup requirements.
